What
is the "Dot"?
My Friend
I couldn't afford a gift,
And items rarely last
Then I got to thinking of our past.
I wrote this poem to show,
How you made my sickly soul last
From drawings and music,
To friendship and love,
You change my life
But now the time has come to say goodbye.
Though my heart weeps to let you go,
Take this with you,
I want you to know
How your friendship made me feel,
How this bond has kept me real.
When I look back,
I'll think of you
How you made me laugh
And tore my heart in two.
Life bonds, soul sisters,
We shared razors
Dried with each others blood.
Understood each like no other,
Knew each better than our own mothers.
No matter where life takes me,
I'll always look past
How on this dreary soul a spell you cast
In times of carefree, and saddness too.
You saw each with me through.
So remember me as I will you,
May the memories bring a smile to you too.
